Hey, I’m Kim
I’m the face behind Kim Rawlins Photography, and I’m here to capture your wedding as it actually feels — full of love, laughter, happy tears, questionable dance moves and all the wonderfully chaotic bits in between.
I’m not about stiff poses, forced smiles or making you spend half your wedding day staring at my camera. I want you to hang out with your favourite people, soak it all in, and have the best time. I’ll give you a little direction when you need it, but mostly I’m there to capture the real moments, the big feelings and the little things you didn’t even realise were happening.
You bring the love, the laughs and the questionable dance moves. I’ll bring the camera.

What to expect
Finding the right photographer to capture your special moments for you and your loved one can be challenging! Let’s be honest, there are so many talented photographers with such beautiful and creative images!
What makes me different is my style of photography, it’s warm, earthy, inviting, and timeless. Getting to know you is what I’m all about. I’m adventurous, fun and witty (as my husband would describe me) and love working with couples who share similar outlooks on life.
Photographing weddings is one of my favourite things to do. I love seeing the transformation of nervous smiles at the start of the day to the relaxed, real and beautiful connection between you and your partner.
Wedding day tips

During the wedding season, vendors can book out up to 18 months in advance so I would highly recommend locking in your favourite photographer, hair, makeup, florist, celebrant and entertainment. There are so many amazing vendors in Townsville, let me know if you’d like any recommendations.

Share your vision with your photographer well in advance. Provide them with a list of must-have shots, such as family portraits, and any special details or moments you want to be captured.

Lighting plays a crucial role in photographing your wedding day. If your ceremony or reception is outdoors, consider the time of day and how natural light will affect your photos. For indoor venues, ensure there’s adequate lighting or discuss with your photographer about potential lighting solutions.

A “first look” allows you and your partner to see each other before the ceremony, often resulting in more intimate and relaxed photos. Other first look options can be with parents, grandparents or siblings.
Kim recently took our wedding photos and we could not recommend her enough. The photos she capture are amazing and we are so happy with them. She went above and beyond making everyone feel so comfortable and at ease behind the camera.

If you’re not used to being photographed, an engagement session is a great opportunity to get comfortable in front of the camera. It helps you understand how to connect naturally and can make you feel more at ease for your wedding day.

Getting to know you and your wedding day vision is super important. We can chat via phone call, meet for coffee or discuss over email.
BOOK
Are you ready to take the next step! To guarantee the date I require a signed contract and retainer payment of 50%. The remaining amount will be due 4 weeks prior to your wedding day. Once you give me the go ahead, I’ll send you the contract, invoice, and booking questionnaire.
LOCKED IN
When the payment has been received and contracted signed - your wedding day is locked in! How exciting!!
FINAL WEDDING QUESTIONNAIRE
I’ll send you the final wedding questionnaire ~3-4 months prior to your wedding day. This will give me all the information to start your wedding day run-sheet. I will email you the run-sheet when it’s completed.
FINALISING DETAILS
I’ll give you a call 3-4 weeks prior to your wedding to go through the run-sheet and make any necessary changes.
WEDDING DAY
This is what you’ve been waiting for! Time to have the most beautiful day and capture those special memories!
YOUR PHOTOS
You will receive sneak peek photos 7 days after your wedding. Your full gallery will be ready 10-12 weeks after your wedding.

You will receive sneak peak photos 7 days after your wedding day. Your full gallery will be ready 1012 weeks after your wedding. You will be emailed a link to an online gallery where you will have access to the high-resolution images.

I typically don’t use a second shooter as I would prefer to capture all parts of your wedding day with my creative outlook. However if having second photographer is what you would prefer I know lots of great photographers who would love to be a second shooter for your special day.

There is no right or wrong when it comes to your wedding day. Wedding videography is so beautiful and there are some absolutely fantastic videographers in Townsville!
